About Peninsula

Peninsula Wrestling Club is a nonprofit youth program that has served families across Oregon and Washington for over 50 years. Beginners and experienced athletes are welcome.

More than wrestling. A place to grow.

At Peninsula, we teach young people to see the hero and champion in themselves.

Wrestling develops discipline, self-control, confidence, and resilience. Athletes learn how to work through pressure, handle adversity, and make the right choice — even when it’s hard. Our goal is not just performance on the mat, but long-term growth in everyday life.

Club Update

Jacob Mitchell’s journey reflects what Peninsula is about: consistent work, strong coaching, and belief over the long haul.

From early training at Peninsula Wrestling Club to competing at the national level, Jacob has put in the hours and earned each step forward. As he approaches Olympic qualification events and trials, he carries the support of his coaches, teammates, and community.

What this represents

  • Years of discipline and training
  • A clear example for younger athletes
  • A community that builds champions

We’re proud of Jacob and the work behind the results — and we’re proud of every athlete who shows up and does the work.
